Where is Empire located?

Empire Comedy Club is located in the arts district of Portland, ME at 575 Congress St on the Second Floor above Empire Chinese Kitchen.

Are there age restrictions?

Empire is a 21+ venue.

Where can I park near the club?

On street parking (free after 6pm) is available near the venue. There are also paid parking lots nearby.

What time do doors open?

Door times will vary depending on the event type. Please check the event details to determine the actual door/showtimes for any specific events. Please note, all shows are advertised as ‘Start’ time!

What is the refund policy?

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds or exchanges.

What is the difference between General Admission and Preferred Seating?

General Admission tickets do not guarantee seats; if sold out, some GA ticket will be standing room only. Arrive early for seats. Preferred Seating ensures seats in the first several rows in front of the stage.

How can I ensure my my party is seated together?

While we cannot guarantee seats together, we encourage ticket holders to arrive early before showtime, and enter the venue as a group for the best chance of being seated together.

Is there a drink minimum?

No, we do not enforce a drink minimum, however we invite patrons to enjoy both a delicious variety of beverages, and food from the Empire Chinese Kitchenette window within the venue!

Do you offer Stand by tickets for sold out shows?

We do offer stand by tickets for sold out shows. 30 minutes after the show begins, we will release any available tickets. First come first serve.

Should I research the comedian before attending a show?

Yes. Comedy is subjective, and certain comedians are not for everybody. Watching a YouTube clip or reading the headliner's biography is a great way to get insight into the expected performance.

How long do shows typically last?

Shows are typically between 90 minutes and 105 minutes, although some shows may have a different run time, it is dependent on what the performance calls for.

Is the club fully accessible?

Unfortunately the venue is located on the second floor, and is not equipped with handicap access.
