Are there any age restrictions?

We are a 21+ venue.

Do you offer standby tickets for SOLD OUT shows?

Yes, we will have stand by lines for all of our SOLD OUT shows. At the start of every show we will start a standby line in our entryway stairwell. Check in with the door person when you arrive. It is first come first serve

Standby guests wait in line until 30 minutes after the show starts to see if there are any tickets available for you to purchase.

Where is Empire Comedy Club located?

Empire Comedy Club is located in the Arts District of downtown Portland, Maine at the corner of Forest Ave and Congress St.

How do I purchase tickets for a specific show?

All shows are available on our website, and you can also buy tickets to future shows right at the club!

Should I research the comedian before attending a show?

Yes. Comedy is subjective and certain comedians are not for everybody. Watching a YouTube clip or reading the headliner's biography is a great way to get insight on the expected performance.

What is the refund policy?

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds or exchanges.

Are cameras allowed in the club?

Taking pictures and videotaping during the shows without the club’s and the artist’s written consent is strictly prohibited.

How long do the shows typically last?

Shows are usually between 80 and 100 minutes, although the show’s actual length is entirely dependent on the headliner and what their current performance calls for.

Is there a drink minimum?

We don’t have a drink minimum, but rather a 2 item minimum that applies to both food and drink, including non-alcoholic beverages.

What is the difference between General Admission & Preferred Seating?

Seating is not guaranteed for General Admission; In the event of a SELL OUT, some GA ticket purchases will be standing room only. Arrive early to secure your seats.

Preferred Seating tickets guarantee seating directly in front of the stage. Limited PS tickets available per performance.

What time should I arrive?

We recommend that ticket holders arrive at least 30-45 minutes before showtime to get into the venue and be seated.

ATTENTION: Be on time... If you have not arrived at the venue 30 minutes after the start of showtime, your tickets will be cancelled and your seat may be sold to the next customer. No refunds will be given under this circumstance. Empire Comedy Club reserves this right on all ticketed events.

How can I ensure that my party is seated together?

We can not guarantee parties will be seated together, but we will try our best to accommodate all requests. Show up early, and check in with the door/ushers to communicate your party’s needs.

Are there banned items?

Yes, the following items are banned:
  • Large backpacks, luggage, briefcases, etc.
  • Outside food or drinks.
  • Any and all illegal drugs.
  • Any and all weapons, such as: pepper spray, pocket knives, tasers, guns, etc.

Is there parking available?

There are plenty of paid parking lots & garages around the area. On street metered spaces are free after 6:00pm Thursday through Saturday. On street parking is free all day Sunday.

Do you have a lost and found?

Yes, we do. To check our lost and found, Email us at [email protected]
All items are kept for 30 days.
  • All abandoned CREDIT CARDS will be destroyed after 30 days.
  • All found DL/ID CARDS will be surrendered to USPS to be returned to the owner after 30 days.
  • PERSONAL ITEMS will be donated or discarded after 30 days.

Is the club fully accessible?

No, unfortunately we are located in an old building that is not outfitted with handicap access.
